We all eat, and it would be a sad waste of opportunity to eat badly.
Being in Germany for a month and half, it's safe to say that I ate my way through the country. Germany is full of rich foods and lots of meat, so trying to eat vegan-ish and healthy can be quite the challenge. Most restaurants in Germany have vegetarian options, but it's the hip/new restaurants (of which there are many) that offer more creative and healthy vegetarian fare. The beer was spectacular, although I did miss it when I skipped drinking alcohol for a month, one of my January traditions. And my favorite restaurant in Germany? That's a hard one, because I loved the kitschy, local, and exceptionally pet-friendly Salon Regina in Nuremberg, but I'm going to say that it's a tie between Café Paris in Hamburg (mostly for its fabulous Art Nouveau tiled ceiling) and the creative, tasty veggie fare at the simply cozy Café Johanna in Hamburg (although their service could use some improvement). Guten appetit!
